Presently of 12 months most individuals have chocolate eggs, chicks or rabbits on their minds. Apart from me! I look ahead to my Sicilian Easter Bread (cuddura cu l’ova), a conventional braided Easter bread baked with eggs nestled within the dough.

That is the present that kids in Sicily obtain every Easter (no less than they did again in my mom’s day) and a convention that I now proceed with my family!

Usually cuddura cu l’ova are made with a barely sweetened cookie dough embellished with sprinkles or icing as in these easter cookies with eggs or with a candy leavened dough as on this braided Easter bread with eggs.

However at our home, simply because it was at my nonna’s home in Sicily, we have fun Easter with this bread model which is ideal for having fun with with the baked eggs!
